Tessa and Zeb bring a fresh, contemporary design and build approach of clean lines and flawless craftsmanship to achieve spaces that are at once open, intimate, functional, and fun.
Zeb’s childhood in the woods of Northern Idaho was spent immersed in working alongside his father (an artisan woodworker and builder), absorbing the traditions of craftsmen and architects, like Greene and Greene. This laid the foundation for his future career, giving him the hands of a builder and the eyes of an artist.
Tessa, was born in Detroit to a mother with a background in fine art, who encouraged and fostered Tessa’s early affinity for creativity and design. She views the world with curiosity and insight, finding inspiration in places and things others overlook, and brings that same spirit into each design she creates.
The pair discovered an unexpected synergy during a decade of working together on domestic and international luxury retail and hospitality projects. With Zeb in construction and Tessa in design, they forged an unusual partnership between roles that are often siloed or at odds with each other yielding end products that surpassed everyone’s expectations – they knew they had something special to offer and SpotLab was born.
Their collaborative approach is rooted in their mutual recognition of design, craftsmanship, and attention to detail, which results in a real magic that they create working together.
